Tasca do Valado — Restaurant in Baião

While travelling around Portugal with horses recently we stopped at this restaurant and asked the friendly owner for help with finding a field where we could camp for a night. He bent over backwards to help us and within 20 minutes it was all organised. Although we didn’t eat here we were very impressed at how friendly and helpful everyone was and the restaurant is tastefully done up and in a beautiful location. I will definitely be coming back here to sample the food in the future and stay in one of the lovely bungalows. We had a deeply disappointing experience at this restaurant. The food quality was extremely poor, with dishes that seemed as though they had been frozen for an extended period. Unfortunately, the entire family, including our children, experienced food poisoning after our meal. The presentation of the food was unappetizing, giving the impression that little care was taken in its preparation. While the location and views were indeed beautiful, they could not compensate for the serious health and safety concerns. We strongly advise others to avoid...

Wow, what a fantastic little gem this is. Stunning views, the food is fabulous and the service was excellent. We came with our two children (1.5 and 5) and the staff were so accommodating and friendly. Delicious cod fitters, onions in vinegar, fresh bread, mushrooms with red onion and bacon, followed by AMAZING grilled lamb with greens from the village and delicious vino verde.
