Superb! I lived in Thailand for years, and Supatra is the only Thai restaurant in Portugal that is the real deal. Supatra (the chef/owner’s name) shared stories with us today about how she was born and raised in Bangkok, and opened the first Thai restaurant in Portugal in 1991. After running the original restaurant for 20 years in nearby Caldes de Raina and achieving a Michelin star, her and her husband Humberto (whom runs the dining room) decided to close down and open this smaller location as a lower volume passion project. Wow, the food was spot on!! I had Tom Yum soup to begin, followed by Gaeng Khiao Waan (green curry) both with the flavors of fresh lemongrass, chili, and ginger exactly as they should be. My girlfriend (a vegetarian) had veggie spring rolls, followed by Pad Thai, again done as authentic as it gets. Even sat outside on their garden terrace and enjoyed lunch under a beautiful Portuguese fall blue sky!

We have lived in Portugal for nearly two years now and can’t believe we only just found Supatra. Thank goodness it’s only 30 minutes from our house and will now be a part of our...

Unfortunately the way I was treated by the owner has left me so disturbed that I will no longer recommend Supatra to family and friends. I had made a reservation for 8:30pm and called to inform we were running late and expected to arrive closer to 8:45. We ended up arriving at 8:55 and refused to be served and asked to leave. If schedule was such a big issue I would have expected this to be informed at the time I called saying I was running late. Not after commuting 35minutes to this remote location. Online their opening hours clearly state from 7:00pm-12:00am, therefore arriving at 8:55pm shouldn’t have been a problem. I would recommend for the hours to be updated online. Dining out has always been a moment to relax and enjoy and this evening it was stressful and a shameful experience. Call me old fashioned but I just expected a little...

This is a must stop every time I visit Portugal, more than once. We basically can have one of every entree, this is the best Thai food I've ever eaten. Supatra is the chef and she is in the back cooking everything with love and hard work. I can't believe how she does it, but I always stop and say Thank You. Umberto, is in the front taking care of the customers and waiting on the tables. This is a gem in the middle of the countryside and wine district of the area. My daughter, who has Pad Thai everywhere she goes, says this is the best Pad Thai she's had and when we leave Portugal she misses Supatra's cooking. I certainly hope this sweet couple don't retire so we can be blessed with...

Excellent lunch, unlike several other reviews, owner very friendly and accommodating. Spring rolls and shrimp toast as appetizers, both very good. Friend had beef, I had Pad Thai, both excellent, cold Thai beer too. Only minor, minor criticism: Pad Thai loaded with shrimp, which was great, but I would have preferred they be de-headed with tails/shells removed (a few were but most were not); just make it easier to eat and less messy. Overall very good experience, will go back. Not cheap, not expensive especially considering food quality. PS Also wide variety (30-40) Thai products for sale at reasonable prices (rice noodles, chili and fish sauce, siracha, etc.).
