Dona Florinda — Restaurant in Bragança

In traveling throughout Europe and North America , I find this a hidden gem one of the most delightful experiences I’ve ever had. The filet mignon is a must, wonderfully flavored in a bold but delicate port reduction, topped with a thin bit of cheese that completely enhances the flavor and a perfectly cooked (medium rare) filet that melts like warm butter in your mouth, paired with perfectly prepared potatoes thinly sliced and layered with what seems a cream and cheese and beautifully grilled courgettes. With a stuffed mushroom plate as a starter that leaves you wanting for more, they were paired with a bit of applesauce that just made them explode with flavor. The food is beyond perfect, the service exceptional and the prices are very underwhelming especially for a meal of this caliber. If you’re in Bragança make sure you have at least one meal here you will be happy you made the choice to do so and will have an unforgettable meal. O ambiente é elegante, com instalações irrepreensíveis e uma decoração sofisticada, que contribui para uma experiência acolhedora. O atendimento merece destaque: a equipa é extremamente simpática, atenciosa e sempre disponível para garantir que tudo esteja perfeito.

A comida é excelente, variada e preparada com ingredientes frescos, respeitando sempre as raízes gastronómicas transmontanas. A ementa é extensa e apresenta escolhas ecléticas, combinando tradição e inovação. Os pratos são bem apresentados, porque, como se diz, os olhos também comem.

Experimentei o bacalhau à Dona Florinda, servido dentro de pão rústico com legumes e cebolada, e a espetada de vitela mirandesa com camarão, ananás e batata rústica. Para terminar, uma deliciosa pavlova. Mas há muito mais por descobrir, desde carnes a peixes, sempre com qualidade garantida. Durante a semana, o restaurante oferece ainda um menu executivo, mantendo a excelente relação qualidade/preço.

Outro ponto positivo é a acessibilidade: o espaço está preparado para receber pessoas com mobilidade reduzida. Há também opções vegetarianas para quem procura alternativas sem carne ou peixe. Além disso, o restaurante conta com um grande parque de estacionamento e fica a apenas algumas centenas de metros do nó de acesso à A4, o que torna a visita ainda mais conveniente.

We had a wonderful lunch at Dona Florinda on our way to Porto from Spain.

We don't speak Portugese, but the staff were very helpful and courteous when taking our phone booking, and we were assigned English-speaking waiting staff for our visit.

Service was efficient, the food was delicious and beautiful, the restaurant itself was stylish and immaculately presented, and the bill at the end of the meal was pleasantly modest.
