Visited this amazing address on 2 occasions (10th and 11th August 2025) during a short stay in nearby Bragança. We already had the restaurant shortlisted as a must go to, enticed by good reviews and the various photos of their famous Posta a Abel. The place is unsurprisingly very popular on any day but we were not prepared to find ourselves in a queue on the first day. Fortunately we had decided to arrive around 10 in the morning so we could walk around the village. We had easily parked under cover in their side parking lot and discovered it was more than full when we turned up 5 minutes before the opening time. This place operates like clockwork thanks to a team of "well oiled" and friendly staff. There is plenty of space inside across 2 big rooms, so despite the queue, most of the clients will be directed to a table but arrive a little after the first wave and you'll be expected to wait...and it's that good that people do. So the table is dressed with olives and some delicious bread that is made next door. We did not order any starter, wanting the 250gr Posta à Abel (we believe the cut is Pojadouro /rumpsteak), grilled on the BBQ and mal passado (rare). The meat was accompanied by salad with chips for my partner and I chose salad with batada a murro (boiled with their skin and drizzled with garlic, olive oil and parsley). Simple and utterly delicious. The meat is of excellent quality, the cut perfectly prepared and super tender as expected. At that point, we both agreed that we needed a second visit the next day for lunch before returning home. We had a bottle of water, their house red wine and ended with dessert, equally good. The bill came to 35.80 euros, 32.40 euros on the second visit as we shared a dessert. We still dream of our 2 lunches at O Abel having had such a great experience on all accounts, staff were really friendly and very professional and of course the food, simple but exquisite. Let's hope we'll have another opportunity to visit the place again. We recently had a conversation with our mechanics near Sernancelhe who is a keen cyclist, he too knew this famous restaurant ! Thank you all for everything and boa...

Wow! Divine wood-fired steak simply seasoned with salt and rosemary. Well-marbled and juicy. Both the fries and roasted potatoes are amazing, as is the house red wine. Service was so friendly and enthusiastic. Our server took us through the entire menu and made great recommendations. 600g of steak, fries, roasted potatoes, salad, olives, bread a 1L of wine for 35 euros. Unbelievable value. We went 15 minutes after they opened and got the last parking space. People kept coming (no idea where they parked); the staff opened another dining room! So many families having an...

The best restaurant by far serving typical Trás-os-Montes food. Posta Mirandesa is their prime dish served with fries and salad. Every other dish is pretty good but this is by far the best. The place has free parking, easy access and the prices are more than fair. You can eat at around 12€ per person. The restaurant is usually full and the queues can be long, but even with that you can always enjoy a good wine while waiting, so try to arrive early as possible. It is one of those restaurants that I won't surely forget. Don't miss it!

Brutal. Volveremos. Muy recomendable.
