Great great restaurant! This is one the restaurants you can't miss. The food is tasteful, the quality price ratio is adequate. There is also a great wine selection, which is great because the food from the north of Portugal can be "heavy" and hard to digest. So for me the wine is inevitable! Even if you don't want to ssend a lot in a wine, you can ask for the "vinho verde da casa" ( meaning the wine from the restaurant) which is very acceptable! We ask for "polvo á lagareiro" (octupus cooked in olive oil) and it was one of the best I have ever tasted! So smooth! Then i tasted the octupus with rice (very good too) and "açorda de marisco" (seafish with a kind of dry bread soup), and they were very good too. The ambiance is excellent specially because of the nature surrounding the...

Caneiro is certainly a well known name in the culinary scene in the North of Portugal for the past 35+ years. Specialized in Regional recipes, we couldn’t escape several of its best dishes! We had the “Wild mushrooms” and the “Seafood Patê” and then the “king” of the menu -“Polvo à Caneiro@ (Oven Baked Octopus with Octopus rice) that was absolutely amazing! We also had “Camarão a’ngola” (Shrimps in seafood sauce with white rice). For dessert we had the “Profiteroles with Vanilla Ice Cream and Chocolate sauce”. It’s certainly worth the trip and, if you’re lucky, you might rub shoulders with some...

A restaurant that treats you according to the way you are dressed, even though they don't have a dress code. We apologize but we were on the road between Pena Aventura and Porto. They put us at the worst table in the restaurant. Octopus had no taste. Lemon was missing. Cod was swimming în oil. The fish and chips dish tasted only like vinegar. The batatas e... Was extremly salty and the meat was raw (without being asked before). The was disapointing.
