What a glorious place this is! We were not expecting te find such a vibrant place in the small village located at fajã da Caldeira de Santo Cristobal.
This taberna has a beautiful, spacious garden with picknick tables where you can rest after a strenuous hike. We found a table on the covered terrace, which was very busy during lunch hour.

I understand it's very remote and they have pricing power due to the few restaurants around. But, the portions were more on the smaller side given the price. The environment and treat of the server was excellent. He helped us sort through our inconvenient (there had been a landslide and we were not able to go back through the same road). If you go to the caldeira de fajã do cristo, which is a must in São Jorge, you should stop here after the hike. It's definitely worth it. I look forward...
