Camarão — Restaurant in Caminha

We visited a few weeks ago. Despite not being very busy (and we had booked) we were sat down and rushed into deciding our choices - asked twice before we'd even been offered a drink.

When we did order, the food arrived suspiciously fast and before the wine. The large lump of cod was so oily and greasy - swimming. The thinner sections of the fish were totally overcooked and hard while the thicker part was still under cooked.

We then saw the other tables being offered the fish specials that we had not been told about.

Nobody approached us at anytime to ask about our food and when we left (only 45 minutes after arriving!), nobody acknowledged or said goodbye at all.

We had a great Sunday lunch today. We are experienced travelers living and traveling in Portugal and appreciate good food and service.. The food was excellent… a lovely Sargo fish at a great price and a superbly cooked steak all served with fabulous potatoes, vegetables and hand cut fries… it was superbly cooked steak busy so book early on à Sunday but the service was amazing… Fernando was a superb waiter… attentive, efficient, humorous and very knowledgeable. una buena opción para comer viene en un sitio bastante elegante para estar a pie de playa. El servicio es joven y muy atento. No recibieron con la mesa preparada con unos entrantes bastante ricos consistentes en olivas pequeñitas jamón serrano y un paté casero de atún.. comimos una ensalada de atún y compartimos un arroz de mariscos para una persona y media por recomendación del camarero, éramos 3 personas y fuimos incapaces de comernos todo el arroz. Las raciones son exageradas, calculo que de esa olla podrían haber comido 6 personas fácilmente. Vimos cómo cogían, poco antes de hacer el arroz, una langosta de la pecera. Esa era nuestra langosta, además de la langosta el arroz tenía mejillones, almejas, langostinos, gambas, etcétera estaba muy buena.
