We shared our experience with a family who are regulars. I frequented this restaurant in the early 90's so it's well established. It cannot have been easy for them to ride these last years of the pandemic.
Don't expect parking or a seat with a view, though you will remember that it's the one overlooking the gas/petrol station. Inside - or on the terrace outside - I managed to forget about the petrol fumes and celebrate the good company.
The spot has been popular for families for decades, and the food I would class as Italian rustic / home cooking style. The pizzas are not, as I see it, the best option, and not those thin crust gourmet ones with refined ingredients. They have a own version that throws it all in there, and for those young'uns who have an appetite, go for it!
Some pasta is delivered as 'fridge fresh' spun from Italy, and it eclipses the dried package variety. There are tasty options on the menu.
I heard the Tiramisu was good so next time... I've not yet had better than the original from Treviso in Italy and some from reputable eateries in North America. Each to their own, and there are so many versions out there... FYI, the name tiramisu translates as 'lift me up' literally, and they used this concoction in the 1800s to help clients from a local brothel to fulfil their marital duties (raw eggs and coffee, mmm). The secret is in superior expresso, the quality of the eggs, the least amount of sugar (use raw if possible). Keep it simple with a good mascarpone and cocoa powder.
All in all, it's not the least expensive Italian in the area, and I've preferred a few in Lisbon over all of the Cascais Estoril area offerings. Why not give this place a try and see how it measures up to your palate. I look forward to...
Read moreWe went here, because we were recommended to another restaurant and went to it, got a table and left because we didn’t like. So, we saw this on the way there and then returned back to this place. What an awesome surprise!! The food is super authentic, and so delicious! I could eat there every day. My husband had their daily special, of spaghetti with seafood, my son the tortellini with white cream sauce and me the grilled chicken with salad. The staff was really great too, super friendly and helpful. The restaurant feels cozy and warm. Can’t...
Read moreAlbeit the surrounding of the restaurant being odd (it's inside of a gas station), I was blown away with this restaurant. I'm pretty picky with the Italian pasta dishes, but the spaghetti ai frutti di mare was mind blowing. The portions are HUGE. And the taste, even ... Huger! 😁 Honestly, I was totally surprised. I wasn't really expecting much and yet, I feel I found a...
