I have been a regular customer at Quinta do Farta Pão for the last 30 years. During this time two things remained constant: the quality of the food and the quality of the service.
"Cozido à Portuguesa" is what the restaurant is best known for but there are other staples there that are absolutely a must like the skewers (meat or fish), the grilled octopus and the amazing sirloin stake fried with garlic (for an even better experience be sure to order also the fried egg).
The service is top notch, under the leadership of mister Carlos Silva which has been in the restaurant since I can remember. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful and polite. A special mention here to mister Paulo Correia who has the special of gift of having always the right answer ready and to elevate the customer mood with his cheerful but respectful comments and jokes.
No review about Quinta do Farta Pão could be complete without mentioning the bucolic and peaceful setting. The restaurant is built around some ancient lime kilns that confer it a very special grace.

I have some challenges with mould (allergy) so if it's a pleasant day I prefer to sit outside. The restaurant sitting area seems ok though the hall area leading to the outside by the steps has some traces of mould on...

Service could be better, you order food and ask for wine but they say they come back to you later, after they bring the wine but no glasses. Food is just amazing! Just be careful and see photos of...
