Bem Estar — Restaurant in Castro Daire

Simply crazy. We (2 brothers) ordered the Bife à bem-estar, like everyone recommends (25€). The waitress mentioned it is a dish for two. It is basically 2 large beef steaks, just under 300g each (we asked), topped with egg, ham and melted cheese, all bathed in secret mustard sauce. It was delicious and juicy. The meat is accompanied by large plates of fries and rice, both obviously great as well. We asked Marianna our waitress for a salad (doesn't appear in the menu) to add some freshness, and she brought a hefty plate of fresh lettuce, onion and tomato in vinaigrette for a mere 3,50€. The only thing we weren't admiring was the atmosphere - an old-school family restaurant with a TV on the wall - but that's because we have to complain about something... Ended up taking a picture with the ever-smiling owner, Urbano, to cherish the experience....

As referências do restaurante eram boas e a realidade não desiludiu!

Dose generosa, de excelente confecção, com os tentáculos cozinhados no ponto. Azeite de qualidade e arroz acima da média. Fiquei satisfeito e, porque ainda havia muito que pedalar, provar as sobremesas teve de ficar para outra oportunidade.

Enorme simpatia do staff e um inesperado agrado no final que me deixou meio que sem jeito. Obrigado!
