Restaurante Welcome Douro — Restaurant in Cinfães

We were driving along the Douro river, from Porto to Lamego. We found this delightful little restaurant from Google maps. There are no signs by the road, for the restaurant - just follow Google maps. We sat on the terrace, high up in the side of the Douro with great views.

Delightful service from the owner, Cecilia, who spoke perfect English. Locally sourced, Portuguese menu. I had the "local rice" dish, cooked totally fresh. This dish was served from a casserole and was a "soupy" dish of rice, local smoked sausage and kidney beans in a rich, paprika flavoured sauce. This was delicious! We couldn't resist the excellent chocolate mousse for pud. Really excellent lunch, fab view and such...

Restaurant has a good view over the river and is very cosy. Service was quick and very thoughtful, we asked for advice on wine and the server advised us on some tasty local Douro wine. We ordered half a portion of "Nacos Serranos" and "Mourilhe's mountain steak", it was plentiful for a couple. To finish dinner, we ordered chocolate mousse, fresh and sweet. This is a fantastic restaurant. We accidentally landed at the campground and tried the restaurant and ate there both nights that we stayed. The food is unbelievable great and our waitress was better than fantastic. The prices are also very good. If you are close by you gave to stop and eat.
