Outstandingly good food - located in a museum/archaeological site, which is a bit surprising! The menu (this is for the indoor dining room rather than the terrace) is short but everything we had from it was delicious and very well prepared. Medallions of veal, and the sirloin steak were possibly the best beef we've tried in Portugal. The dourada fillets were just right and the peppery lemony seasoning worked well. I wish they'd had a larger choice of Portuguese deserts but we decided not to have anything. The wait for food was a little long but to be honest, I forgot about it once it arrived. I've eaten here before, a few years ago, and it's good to know it's still worth a detour. (Come for the archaeology, stay...

The worst cafe ever! This place is not baby friendly at all! We ordered a soup for our baby. The soup with meat wasn't ready yet so we ordered the vegetable soup! We waited more than 20 minutes and the soup was almost cold! We asked if it was possible cook an omelette for our baby. Almost all the cafe in Portugal do Omelette. The omelette price was not available in the cafe menu. We was charget 10 euros for a simple omelette and in the billing was charged like a regular plate of meat! Really ridiculous service! I won't advise this place...

The average quality of the food in no way justifies the poor service and ridiculous waiting times. I ordered my food after waiting 10 minutes for the waiter to even acknowledge my presence, let alone bring me a menu. Half an hour later I asked how much longer it would be. "Five minutes". Another 10 minutes and I asked again. "Soon". It arrived 10 minutes later. "well" said the waiter, "I have a large table inside". So the small ones aren't important? He just shrugged. Never again. It ruined an otherwise brilliant visit to the Conimbriga...

Great service, awesome meat for a really fair price. Only the fries could have been maybe a bit more crunchy. But when you pay 12,50 Euro for the lunch menu and get a soup as an appetizer, a main course of your choice, a desert free of choice, a free coffee and a free drink of your choice (even a glass of wine) it is absolutely fair. Ah, and of course you have a nice view of you are sitting close to the window ;) So, highly recommended!
