Arcadas — Restaurant in Coruche

This small cafe is a gem. We found this place while driving to Portalegre only a couple of minutes off the road in a sleepy town. The town may have been sleepy but Arcadas was super busy filled with locals enjoying long lunches. The food is very traditional and the produce is locally sourced. Carolina the owner is so kind and helped to translate the menu for us kiwis. The food was fantastic...and the hospitality from Carolina was the best we have experienced during our trip to Portugal. Good local and typical restaurant with many of the goodies from Portugal. For lunch we had Carne Porco À Marisqueira, like in Alentejo region but with more seafood, a top soup of green beens, mixed with presunto and local cheese. Wine from all types available still special recommendation on white wine, being a dedicated district producing this castas. Price relation very accessible around 20eur with all included above. Café e restaurante em pequena mas típica vila de tempos abastados, comida caseira de grande sabor e qualidade. A aposta foi no rabo de boi e bifinhos de cogumelos, foi pedido meia dose de cada prato, ainda se levou para casa e comemos até "rebentar". As batatas fritas são das verdadeiras e muito saborosas. Para sobremesa a aposta é no pudim de ovos. A melhorar - o serviço que é simpático mas um pouco caótico - a sala estava cheia...
