What an amazing dinning experience I just had, had to write a review as soon as I arrived home.
We started with some warm bread and the most delicious mushroom homemade butter
For appetizers, the first dish was a delightful combination of charred persimmon, cheese foam, fresh watercress and crunchy hazelnut on top. The second one we had to try was "ovos rotos de bacalhau", a surprising twist on a classic dish: cod fish, potatoes and eggs.
The Mondego rice, made in a bell pepper and potato sauce, was the perfect bed for Carabineros shrimps, mussels and parsley sauce, topped with a fresh lime squeeze.
The meal ended with an extremely balanced dessert: a wonderful balance between salty and sweet, crunchy and soft, hot and cold. A warm sweet bread french toast, paired with cardamom infused chocolate and vanilla ice-cream.
As for the service, the staff was very helpful and welcoming.

Entrámos com uns pastéis de bacalhau e umas vieiras, os pastéis que traziam aquela familiaridade que nos faz verter uma lágrima a lembrar dos cozinhados da avó, e as Vieiras que traziam um equilíbrio, aconchego e frescura que nos fazia andar às voltas em cada garfada, sem sequer ter que sair da cadeira. Estando nós na Figueira, o Arroz Carolino era ingrediente obrigatório, foi então escolha o Arroz com nabiça e bochechas de bacalhau e a bomba de polvo. Ambos maravilhosos, o de bacalhau pede quase uma esplanada numa tarde amena de primavera. Já aquela bomba de polvo é para comer junto á lareira embrulhados numa mantinha ... Ou sem manta que ele já nos deixa bem aconchegados. Finalizamos com um doce da casa, que nem palavras tenho... Que docinho. É por refeições como estas que vale a pena estar vivo.
