What can I say! To start the building, which also houses a local museum, is beautiful and the Restaurant tastefully decorated while maintaining the local style. The food is unlike anything I have eaten in the local area. Local produce used to produce local/Portuguese dishes, executed exceptionally well. Finally our server Roberto was really a big highlight of our Dinner. Taking the time to explain each delicious dish as well as its history and the history of the area. His knowledge of wine backed up by an incredible Portuguese wine cellar resulted in us drinking a bargain of a local wine produced by the local farm collective which was a steal for the price! Thanks to Roberto and the team. Please visit this charming village and restaurant, you won't regret it, and spread the word. I will be back when next visiting the area! Sending best wishes from London!

Food was excellent apart from the tomahawk steak which was incredibly tough and not pleasant to eat. Desserts were incredible! Interior was beautiful and well finished however some attention could be paid to improving the lighting to be ambient varied. I felt the space needed some background music to complete the atmosphere too. Perhaps light jazz or classical music or something a little more modern to set the tone. Service was professional and attentive however the we asked 4 times for additional sides which came way too late and the coffee was forgotten to not arrive with desserts. However, all in all one of the better dining experiences I’ve ever had in Portugal.

This is beautiful cooked with real knowledge of the ingredients and flavours and how they can work together and in opposition. The service was excellent and the waiter gave an explanation of how the dish was conceived in terms of local ingredients and recipes and how they’ve put their twist on what’s before you. The meal was incredibly reasonable in terms of price given what we were eating. It worked out at €35 a head and we had a very good bottle of wine and 2 courses. You could quite easily eat for €25 a head. As a dining experience this is one of the best places I’ve eaten. Thank you so much for such an enjoyable experience.
