We last went to this ‘Italian’ restaurant about 12 years ago. Having lived in London and visited Italy on many occasions there’s no way this establishment can be described as Italian. At most due to the real wood they burn in the very small oven it can produce a good pizza. Tonight we thought we’d go there again and have a pizza as our friends have said is of a good quality. Unfortunately having waited for over an hour we gave up and never got to taste it. We arrived just after 2020 and the restaurant was busy. While setting up our table I asked the obviously stressed (and rude) waiter for a beer. He returned to the table with olives, spreads, bread and butter that we hadn’t ordered but no beer. To be fair this is quite normal in Portugal as restaurants like to sell you cheap products at inflated prices. (Most other foods are very well priced - as are the other offerings at this restaurant) We were provided with one menu between us which is quite big and due to sitting opposite each other were unable to read together. After 5 minutes my wife had made her selection and while I was reading it the bad tempered waiter returned and asked for our order. I asked for a further 5 minutes to make my selection. The waiter stomped off and returned about 15 minutes later although he passed us on numerous occasions. At 2050 we both ordered a pizza and I had another beer that was served in quick time. At 2150 I had had enough of waiting so asked for the bill. I sure that our pizzas were still not even made so who knows how much longer they expected us to wait. I’m sure (this experience was due to the number of customers they had but not helped by the incredibly poor organisation and lack of waiters. We have lived in Portugal for 13 years and speak Portuguese. This is easily the worst ever experience we have had a any restaurant anywhere that we have been and the first time we have ever left before being served. I’m sure outside of the busy times you can enjoy a pizza here but if it’s busy I’d suggest driving to Coimbra or Poiares and buying a takeaway as it will be...
Read moreThe waiter was one of the rudest people we met. After calling the restaurant and asking if they could book a table, the answer was no. Upon arrival there were booked tables... While being served, we asked for olives that never arrived, and the waiter warn that "it might take a while". This "while" was more that 90 min of waiting time. One of the pizzas came wrong, and we only noticed after half of it was eaten. The waiter came and bullied us, saying: "How could you not have noticed it!?!" And saying that not only we had to pay for the pizza we get, but also for the correct one. Only after we threatened to ask for the Complaints Book, did they say that "it was ok"... The pizzas were ok, but they did not compensate for...
Read moreThe experience was good, but the wait was extremely long—we waited over 1.5 hours for our order to arrive. On top of that, during the wait they tried to put olives and bread on our table more than three times and charged us for it as if we had consumed them. Basically, they take a long time and still try to charge extra while customers are waiting. The food was good, but because of the long wait between dishes, it ended up getting cold. One of the people with us mentioned that the place wasn’t even as busy as it usually is—just imagine if it...
