Monte dos Leitões — Restaurant in Guimarães

I planned a bachelor party in a relatively remote area near Porto and I was worried about being able to find viable food options for 15 people. I reached out to Monte dos Leitões a couple of weeks prior to the trip and they were incredibly responsive. They walked me through the purchasing process and gave very helpful details on serving sizes. They were even willing to deliver due to the size of the order even though they normally wouldn’t.

Experiência de jantar para duas pessoas. Telefonei e perguntei se era melhor reservar mesa, disseram que sim era melhor reservar. Quando chegamos ao restaurante estava completamente vazio. Uma sala enorme bem decora mas infelizmente estava gelada. Fiz esse reparo e disseram que tinham acabado de ligar o ar condicionado. Vieram as entradas um patê caseiro azeitonas e pão quente. Escolhi leitão e foi pedido um bitoque. Primeiro vieram as batatas fritas, estavam frias, tal como o ambiente da sala, depois veio o leitão, 1/2 dose pouco generosa a contrastar com o preço. Entretanto a minha acompanhante continuava á espera do bitoque, que deveria ter servido ao mesmo tempo. Finalmente quando eu já estava a meio da refeição chegou o bitoque. Lamentavelmente as batatas fritas estavam cozidas em óleo. Claro que não foram comidas. A sala continuava gelada. Quem servia era simpático e ia perguntando se estava tudo bem. Quando terminei perguntou se queria mais um pouco de leitão. Penso que era preferível a dose ter sido melhor servida em vez de questionar se queria mais, até porque tem pessoas que podem ficar constrangidas e preferem dizer que não. Conclusão o leitão não estava mau e apenas isso. Não fiquei cliente nem pelo ambiente nem pela qualidade nem...

Roasted whole pig. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, and the meat was freshly cooked and delectable. It was also quite affordable. You need a car to get there, as far as I can tell, it's not really near anything, but I could be mistaken.
