Varadouro Pizzeria — Restaurant in Horta

Good service. However, I’m sorry to be harsh but this is everything but pizza. I know nobody can expect a proper pizza in Faial, but this is uneatable. The dough is thin, tough, without any trace of salt or yeast: a shoe sole. The tomato sauce tastes of ketchup. There’s no trace of olive oil or mozzarella. Call it bread, focaccia, whatever … it is an insipid and tasteless break-teeth bread, what the most far is from a pizza.

Edit: No, I don't like discrediting people at all, but neither to be jocked, buying a product that you call pizza and sell at 14 euros when it is everything but pizza! And your attitude in the answers shows even your false politeness. Just for this, you and your activity deserve to...

The pizza was INCREDIBLE. We could not believe how truly authentic Italian it was. What a great experience. We really didn't know what to expect on the island being from the States and to say we were completely surprised and so satisfied is an understatement. We ended up eating here EVERY DAY! The owners are great people, so friendly and very welcoming and make you feel just like family! Being of Italian heritage and growing up eating good Italian food, this reminded me of those good old days. This place really knows what they are doing with taste, quality, quantity, price and overall service. This is our go to spot whenever we will be here so spread the word...Exceptional....

The BBQ chicken pizza is disgusting. They put some gross tomato sauce and also bbq sauce. The cheese is also gross. I told the waitress we wanted to order a different pizza because it was gross ( I didn't ask for anything free) and she went off on me about how I should have read the menu better. The view is incredible but the pizza is gross. Don't go here!
