Vamos Ò Manteigas — Restaurant in Idanha-a-Nova

Firstly allow me to say a huge thank you to the gentleman that served us and sorry if we confused your head with out limited Portuguese. We sat outside for our meal but went inside also. The interior looked clean and consisted of two rooms one side is the cafe bar where you get menus and the right hand side room is the inside seating for the restaurant and where you go to choose a dessert. Do not be fooled by the cheap prices as the food is above average and the coffee is extremely good. We found the staff to be accommodating and very charming. The restaurant seems to attract many people locals and tourists alike. We enjoyed the coffee as we did the meals even though we passed on the bread as it felt quite hard inside the cloth bag it came in. We will come back to this charming restaurant / Cafe and it's lovely people as we frequent Idanha a nova and really enjoy its atmosphere and all it has to offer. If you enjoy good food, great coffee at a more than fair price then treat yourself by visiting this lovely restaurant. The restaurant itself opens at 7pm but the cafe will be open. My partner Elaine commented that the fried chicken need to be cooked a bit more as it was a deep pink near the bone so if you order this meal and you don't like it pink around the bone just ask and the staff will let the chef know. Restaurant was very busy, but we were still seated at the time we had booked, even as a group of 10.

Fomos a este restaurante como sendo o melhor de Idanha a Nova, mas a experiência foi excecional. Quando chegamos junto às mesas da esplanada encontrava-se um sr que aos gritos indicava " LÁ PARA DENTRO, LÁ PARA DENTRO ", chegados à porta do restaurante grita outro sr por detrás do balcão "É PARA QUÊ? SE HOUVER LUGAR É NESSA SALA QUE FICA DO LADO DIREITO, VÁ VER". Sentamo-nos deram a carta, trouxeram as entradas, quando fomos fazer o pedido, pediram desculpa mas só tinham bitoque. Quando os mesmos chegaram, os pratos eram luzidios de tanto óleo, nem se deram ao trabalho de limpar os pratos à volta. As batatas vinham ensopadas, arroz nem vê-lo, a carne era boa, mas quem a cozinhou não a fez da forma correta e estava tão rija que foi impossível de comer (sem falar no óleo).
