Mar Sushi Terrace offers a truly fantastic view over the ocean and the eastern end of the island - the setting alone makes this restaurant worth visiting. The interior is stylishly designed, creating an elegant atmosphere that perfectly complements the stunning scenery. Note that the terrace may be closed during or after rain, so indoor seating becomes the fallback option - but the views from inside are still impressive if you are seated next to a window.
The menu is thoughtfully curated and well-organized, featuring a focused selection that shows careful consideration in pairing dishes together. The service is attentive and professional throughout the dining experience.
Be prepared for a busy atmosphere as this popular spot tends to get quite full - a testament to its quality and reputation. The food is simply excellent, justifying both the crowds and any wait you might encounter.
This is the kind of place that leaves a lasting impression. The combination of breathtaking views, stylish ambiance, thoughtful menu, attentive service, and outstanding cuisine creates an experience we would happily repeat anytime. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Pico looking for exceptional dining with spectacular...
Read moreThis is by far the best sushi we've had so far (for reference, we eat a lot of sushi, but have been mostly in Germany and the UK), the service is great and very friendly, and the view is beautiful! A must visit when on Pico, in my opinion.
If you come here, you should know that the restaurant only serves the types of fish the local fishermen caught that week. The fish is super fresh, but it is a different experience than the standard sushi restaurant.
We were incredibly lucky in that we got to taste the first tuna catch of this year. We had a variety of 4 different species, the server told us they have up to 12 in the summer months. The futomaki were prepared with different local fruits and vegetables, and they experiment with spices, so that we still had an enjoyable variety! The desert, Pico Lemon Pie, was excellent as well.
We might have to go back this week just for the tuna - and I'm not even a big fan of...
Read moreSpectacular setting, good food The view from the patio is simply spectacular looking out over the ocean and the green fields and rocky shoreline. There is a large patio area with about 10 or so tables. The service was good and friendly. The food was good, it’s not the best sushi you’ve ever had but it’s good considering you’re on a small island in the middle of the ocean. We had the ponzu fish salad, the 24 piece combo and the pico lemon pie. The fish was fresh and mostly a variety of locally caught white fish (so not imported salmon/tuna). The lemon pie for desert was a refreshing end to the meal and not too sweet. But I did have some rumble belly a few hours after eating here so not sure if that’s a regular occurrence or an isolated incident as I only ate here once; so I have to reduce the rating by one star for that. There is limited parking so you may have to drive into the neighborhood...
