The Birds Nest is a nicely furnished restaurant in Tenoca, close to the village of Boliqueime, Loulé. It is located 12 minutes from Vilamoura and 16 minutes from Loule and Almancil.
The charming Lisa is a very sweet hostess, an angel, who does everything to make the guests feel comfortable.
The Birds Nest is very cozy and romantic, without being a "mess". At the rear is a romantic and cozy garden terrace, so you can eat outside.
The Birds Nest menu features fish, meat and vegetarian main courses (11.95-18.95 euro).
The menu has many typical English dishes, and is regularly updated, because they cook with the seasons.
There is also an extensive wine list. Gluten free and vegan are no problem here.
We had a very good 3- course Sunday lunch on the garden terrace, for only 24,95 pp.
We started with a delicious broccoli soup (6.50) As a main course a delicious mushroom risotto with lime (11.95) and baked pineapple with sorbet ice cream for dessert. (6.50).The delicious white house wine, from Alentejano costs 14.95.
It was a delicious meal (vegan and gluten-free), at a good level, with top service, for a price that is clearly lower than in Almancil.
Strongly recommended!
The Birds Nest is open Tuesday through Saturday for dinner from 7pm and on Sunday for Sunday lunch from noon to 3pm. There are 5 parking spaces next to the restaurant.

Read moreMy Son, daughter in law & myself had v similar experiences of this place… It felt like the lady who greeted us ( the owner I believe ) made a judgement that we weren’t her type of clients - maybe my bright blue shirt and Mexican hat put a judgment in her mind , I’ve no idea - we did all feel the same tho .. unwanted .
Cold service - altho the local Waitress was fine - it felt like they rated themselves very highly yet the welcomes and smiles were non existent . My food was lovely - my friends didn’t enjoy theres .
Expensive - 100 euro with no extras - 4 drinks - no desserts , as for that went else where Tbh ..

Read moreThis review is of the Sunday lunch menu. We had previously visited the restaurant several tears ago and were keen to go back now it has reopened. The restaurant itself has changed little and is still lovely inside. The food was tasty but the lamb seemed to be pre-cut (not from a leg of lamb as thd menu suggests) and the beef I assumd was the same as we were able to specify how well cooked it should be.. it wasnt obvious with the beef though. The service was ok.. a nothing special. All in all a pleasant lunch and we wouldnt not go again but it wont be top of the list which is a shame. All that said I think the prices were very fair and as I ssid the...
