We have been to Tia Bia for the second time. I was sure to leave a 5-stae review the first time already, now I finally do it. The food is very tasty, they have a great chef! Both "lulas", and the wild boar stew were very delicious. The stew has very good seasoning, the portion is big! I especially like the side dish, cooked -fried potatoes and some boiled veggies, also big portion. Even the couvert is special, the tuna cream was very tasty and they served it with sourdough bread! Incredible how they pay attention to all details. And of course, it wouldn't be the same experience without the very very friendly staff. They're all attentive and kind. The atmosphere is nice, even the bathroom worth mentioning with the candles. Really a place to...

Well worth the 1 hr drive up from Altura. The restaurant is quietly positioned and is very welcoming. We went on a Monday when they only open for lunch. The rest of the week they open again in the evenings. My wife had a Black Pork Skewer and I had the Wild Boar, Deer, Partridge and Pheasant Migas. We were advised by the very helpful waitress that we would not want starters and she was right. There was plenty of food. The food was delicious. So much so we are contemplating a return there before we leave. It is one of those sorts of places that's definitely worth making the time and effort to drive to. One point worth noting is that it's advisable to book as they do get very busy especially...

Food, ambience and service were all excellent. Struggled to pick just one main course as so many of the menu choices sounded delicious. I finally decided on the black pork and shrimp kebab and really glad that I did. It looked amazing and was cooked, seasoned and presented to perfection. Fortunately my friend’s choice of wild boar stew defeated her (the portion sizes are VERY generous) so I was able to sample some of her stew as well, again, it was delicious. Needless to say, we will be making a return visit.

This is like a hidden gem of Algarve. So happy we’ve decided to take a longer drive to Barrancos do Velho for a lunch. This place breathes authenticity. Tables available either inside, or on a terrace (covered or uncovered areas available to choose). Unpretentious but very cosy. Portions are hearty. We’ve ordered Migas com Bochechas no forno - Pork cheeks and bread mash from the oven, which is a dish for 2. There were 3 of us, and we felt like it was enough even for 4. Delicious dish, highly recommended.
