Cortim is the name of two English brothees who arrived in Portugal in 1381.
The Cortim brothers, who were part of the English contingent in Portugal during the Third Fernandine War (1381–1382), served under Edmund of Langley, Earl of Cambridge. This English force was sent to support King Ferdinand I of Portugal against Castile as part of the Anglo-Portuguese alliance.
Nowadays, this place gives a complete Portuguese experience. The place was crowded with positive traditional vibes. Plates with starters were already waiting for us with bread and olives. We asked to take back to bread. We asked for a green beans soup and Legumes a brás with the house wine The soup arrived immediately, was probably based on a fish stock, and had quite an interesting taste. The wine arrived in a small jar sufficient to fill two whole glasses. The Legumes a brás, all of their plates is big enough to share, we hardly finished it. We ended up with 18€ The house wine was only 3€ There's a whole show of deserts of many kinds. We just took an americano(abatanado), which was super strong.

When the owner found out that we were on holidays in Portugal for our anniversary he took time to welcome us to his restaurant. We were treated like family.
