Aldeia 1375, located in Marco de Canaveses, Portugal, offers a refined dining experience that harmoniously blends traditional Portuguese flavors with contemporary culinary techniques. Situated along the picturesque Tâmega River, the restaurant provides a serene backdrop that enhances the overall ambiance.

Ambiance and Décor

Housed in a meticulously restored 19th-century granite building, Aldeia 1375 exudes both historical charm and modern elegance. The interior design thoughtfully combines rustic elements with sophisticated touches, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Large windows offer diners captivating views of the river, further enriching the dining experience.

Culinary Offerings

The menu at Aldeia 1375 showcases a diverse selection of Mediterranean and Portuguese dishes, emphasizing fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Notable starters include the bread basket accompanied by olive oil and olives, as well as a flavorful vegetable soup. For main courses, the curry shrimp with coconut flakes, pineapple, and rice stands out for its harmonious blend of flavors. Pasta enthusiasts might appreciate the penne with mushrooms, though some may find the citrus notes in the risotto to be pronounced.

Dessert offerings are equally impressive, with the apple tart served alongside vanilla ice cream receiving particular praise. The chocolate mousse and traditional Portuguese "pão de ló" also come highly recommended.

Service and Hospitality

The staff at Aldeia 1375 are consistently described as attentive, polite, and knowledgeable. Their willingness to discuss menu items and provide recommendations contributes to a personalized dining experience. However, there have been isolated reports of service being overly prompt, with some patrons feeling rushed during their meal.

Location and Accessibility

Conveniently located near the Igreja São Nicolau, Aldeia 1375 offers ample parking for guests. The restaurant's proximity to the river and surrounding natural beauty make it an ideal destination for both locals and visitors seeking a tranquil dining setting.

Conclusion

Aldeia 1375 successfully marries the rich culinary traditions of Portugal with modern dining sensibilities. Its picturesque location, thoughtfully curated menu, and attentive service make it a noteworthy establishment in Marco de Canaveses. While the majority of feedback is overwhelmingly positive, potential diners should be aware of occasional reports regarding the pacing of service. Overall, Aldeia 1375 offers a memorable dining experience that celebrates both the heritage and innovation of...

My first time visiting Aldeia. Arrived around noon on Friday. Not crowded and was seated upstairs immediately. I was with my brother and Portuguese language instructor. Service was fast, polite and informative, they discussed menu items we asked about. Started with a nice bread basket and olive oil and very delicious olives. For appetizers, we ordered the vegetable soup and a salad. For entrees we ordered the curry shrimp with coconut flakes and pineapple—it also included rice— and two orders of the penne pasta with cogumelos (mushrooms). The appetizers and entrees were delicious. My pasta was cooked perfectly, mushrooms were great. We ordered chocolate mouse, pan de lo, and apple cake with vanilla ice cream for desert. All deserts were delicious but the apple cake with vanilla ice cream was truly the star. Maybe that will be my entree next visit. Finished with 2 espressos (for me). Overall a perfect experience. The decoration, atmosphere, staff and food were perfect, I highly recommend Aldeia. As a new resident of Soalhães, I will return to...

Found the restaurant in GoogleMaps, saw they did lunch and some items I could eat with my healthy eating plan. Nice images online and the interior design looked adequate for a medium level cosy afternoon lunch.

Drove there arriving at 1pm on a Saturday. Nice location, lovely view… it was raining A bit though. But at the entrance I found no illuminated menu, or information directing to the entrance or anything. I looked through the glass, the place looked empty, but there was a man with his back to me. I walked around the building and saw lady in inform thinking I had the wrong entrance. She directed me back to the same door…

Just didn’t seem like they wanted customers, so I left. I do not enter restaurants with insufficient information. Clear Menu, clear directions, welcoming friendly staff at the door. It’s a pity because it looked nice. Drove to Amarante and got the friendly service and clear information even though it wasn’t exactly what I...
