Very nice restaurant with lovely people. We had a very nice lunch but ordered a bit too much food and did not have any room left for desert. The owner gave us a desert from the house and some liquor made by the restaurant so after that we were totally satisfied. Everything was great, especially the Picanha. We asked how they make the liquor because it tasted like Fristi (Dutch drink based on milk) with alcohol, but it was hard to explain because of the language barrier. They even phoned someone to explain how it was made and that is was made in house and even gave us a small bottle to take home. This is why Portugal is such a great country to be. Lovely food, atmosphere and people!

Depois de algum tempo, lá chegou a vez de visitar o xô pinheiro. Fomos a descoberta, pedimos de entrada uma alheira sobre uma cama de legumes que estava qualquer coisa. Não poderiam ter faltado aquelas pataniscas de bacalhau, mas sim de bacalhau, textura perfeita e fritura no ponto, nem crua nem seca. Fomos de pratos principais com um bacalhau com natas que estava soberbo, muito bem temperado e as quantidades certas, um sabor e uma textura de deixar água na boca. E claro o rei da noite o arroz de marisco, servido num pote de ferro antigo, arroz muito bem confessionado, no ponto, nem cru nem muito cozido, só achei um ponto negativo no arroz, sabia um pouco a caldos Knorr de marisco, o que deixou um pouco a desejar para o esperado. Sobremesas, cheesecake de frutas vermelhas. Mas claro, sem poder deixar de salientar que o rei da noite foi sem dúvida o bacalhau com natas. Agradecer a todos pela atenção e cuidado durante o jantar, inclusive ao Xô Pinheiro que teve o cuidado de nós cumprimentar pessoalmente. A vocês o meu muito obrigado, e claro o próximo convite não poderei recusar novamente. Obrigado

One of the best restaurants in the area. The service is absolutely excellent. All the staff are very attentive and friendly. The food is cooked to perfection and the portions are absolutely huge. Price wise I think it’s very cheap for what you get. I’d recommend any meat dish but the “polvo a lagareiro” is exquisite. Give this place a try, you will not regret it!

We came to this place to have a nice dinner after a long day. We’re arrived around 8:30pm and ordered the food, the restaurant didn’t look busy at this time but it took so long to make our food, around 1 hour and 40 min is too much time to prepare some fish and soup nothing else. I mean we actually ordered different dishes but for 2 times they came to the table and said it wasn’t available. The service is not very good, we asked for some salt it didn’t come, fries unsalted the soup as well. The price per person is around 20euros if you order half dish with a drink. Anyway not really...

Fantastic place. Turned up at 5pm not realising restaurant closed at 3pm and opened at 7pm. Carlos didn’t blink. We were offered roast veal and we said Yes! Olives, bread, and a lovely green salad appeared. We ordered a bottle of super white wine, had pudding and a lovely glass of red wine. Everyone was wonderful including the person Carlos asked me to speak to on his mobile in excellent English who explained why turning up at 5pm wasn’t optimal!
