Restaurante Castros Reef & Beef — Restaurant in Marinha Grande

A magnificent, accidental find.

Headed back from a long day in Lisbon, we were hungry on the outskirts of Marinha Grande. We googled "restaurants near me" and found out we were 10 meters from Reef and Beef, while stopped at a traffic light in from the establishment.

The reviews were excellent. We soon found out why. Our experience was flawless and wonderful. The place is fun. Cleverly decorated - even the restrooms. The music selection added a great vibe.

Food choices were plentiful and varied. The service was attentive and friendly. The food was delicious, plentiful, and reasonably priced.

Zero deficiencies noted. The three of us agreed that this was the best restaurant we ate at in Portugal.

We returned for an encode meal a few days later. Again, R&B fired on all cylinders. The second time, the chef visited our table with an off-menu dish to try. A potato au gratin type dish of potato and cheese. Perfection.

Highly recommended in every way. They even have off-street parking...

We have passed this interesting looking “house” on the corner many times and today we decided to go inside. It’s a lovely place with great service, food and atmosphere. I came with my wife and sister and we all agreed that it was excellent. Despite so many choices, I had a burger…the best I have had in years. It was perfect.
