Churrasqueira Sever, aka “FILIPE-E”, is one of the best restaurants in Portagem. We went there twice, a group of four. The owner of the restaurant received us in a very amicable way, especially the first time we went there. Given that the place was far less crowded the first time, we were superbly tended to in all aspects; hospitality wise, quality of the food (which was spectacular), and service, which was also impeccable. On the first time, we ordered the “misto de carnes de vaca”, which is a mix of several cuts of cow meat, as well as a pan of porcini rice. Both dishes were scrumptious and the quality of the produce used was definitely of fine quality. The porcini mushrooms are picked locally and were fresh. These two dishes were sided with potato chips, cooked cabbage and a salad. The portions were more than enough for the four of us. On the second occasion, we were sufficiently well served, however, the quality of the service was comprised because the place was very crowded. The cow beef mix wasn’t as good, but on a positive note, they did manage to bring us a delicious bean and (locally picked) mushroom stew, which was exquisite. The codfish was also very well cooked, therefore maintaining the quality of the rating. The bathroom is clean, modern and has a diaper station. The parking is insufficient in proportion to the affluence of people. The accessibility is made solely through a flight of stairs, therefore not the best for physically conditioned individuals or for baby strollers and the sorts. I advise one to book a table beforehand, because the place tends to get crowded on national holidays and festive occasions. Nevertheless, this is overall a very good restaurant.

An absolute gem, they weren’t ready to open but saw my partner and I looking in the window and let us in. As they hadn’t started grill yet they offered us bread, olives and cheese. We then ordered some ham to start (great portion sizes). We shared the steak with jacket potatoes! Perfectly cooked with cabbage, carrots and grilled tomatoes on the side. Also had a local cake which the waitress recommended - delicious! Amazing place in a very remote area.

Went here for dinner and was good choice. Stayed on the terrace and the view from the surrounding hills was quite beautiful. The owner is a very friendly person and usually strikes up a conversation with customers Had a filet steak was quite delicious. It was cooked very well, for my taste, the sidings were good as well. For dessert had an apple, very well presented Overall a very pleasant meal. And the price was not too steep.

Restaurante del lugar que nos recomendaron... Estuvo muy bien, carta extensa y de vinos también. La carretera es algo tediosa si te recorres los alrededores, ya que son sinuosas, pero merece la pena ir por allí, dado que disfrutas de los paisajes preciosos que hay... Sitio acogedor con buenas vistas... Carne en su punto, sopa de verduras exquisita y la sangría de vino blanco muy buena también, entre otras cosas que pedimos... Disponen de una terraza para días calurosos... Camareros y dueño del local muy amables y atentos... Diciéndonos sitios cercanos donde visitar y preguntando que tal la comida... Destacar la picaña de Angus... Venden vinos y aceite (Foto); el aceite (muy buena) al parecer es ecológica y del lugar... (10€ medio litro). Postres de carta, así como caseros, muy ricos estos últimos... Los baños están limpios, con jabón y secador de manos, eché en falta papel para secarte las manos... Sitio recomendable si se pasa por allí...

It was worth the visit to this restaurant. It offers a good selection of traditional dishes from that region. Really tasty 'arroz de miscaros', very interesting flavours. They do offer other kinds of meat, such as wild boar and venison. The staff were attentive. Recommended.

Custumo ir a este restaurante há muitos anos, já foi muito bom mas neste momento não recomendo. Todas as últimas experiências não foram nada boas, mas a última foi péssima. Para começar a sala estava com o ar condicionado muito forte, estava gelado, e muito barulhento. Demoraram imenso tempo para nos atender, Pedimos 3 soupas que tomate que só tinham pão com a cebola crua e pocados de casca do ovo. Ao mesmo tempo que trouxeram as soupas veio a carne grelhada, completamente queimada parecia reaquecida, a couve salteada estava apenas cozida e as batatas fritas estavam frias. Ainda não chegando, não tínhamos pratos para comer, tivemos que pedir dezenas de vezes pratos para conseguirmos comer. A comida já estava fria. Este restaurante perdeu imensa qualidade.
