O Lagar do Nicolau — Restaurant in Mogadouro

All the food was amazing, from the starters to the deserts. A great praise to the griller that was grilling the meat on the charcoal to perfection under a burning hot sun at 37 degrees. This is definitely a place for meat lovers. All the mushroom-based entries were very good. Ask for the grilled bread with delicious olive oil from the region. The meat is locally sourced and of great quality. All the veal meat (Mirandesa breed) was melt-in-your-mouth grilled to perfection (rodião and laurel skewers) as well as the lamb. We asked for every desert on the menu, and they were all great too. Our favourites were the cheese and marmalade platter, the coconut panacotta, lemon mousse and orange torte. All the staff is very nice, friendly and attentive to all the dinners and their requests. They were always ready to answer our questions and give you tips for things to do around the area. I have lunched here twice now and both have been remarkable, unique experiences. This time we were looked after by Luis who is both charming and thoughtful. We had appetisers in the garden whilst we watched him preparing and cooking the meat for our lunch of local pork, beef and lamb. It was delicious! My only regret is that I live...

UM HORROR!!!! Se eu tinha uma ideia que as pessoas que servem nos restantes do norte (incluindo os donos) eram de uma simpatia extrema, HOJE TIVE A PIOR EXPERIÊNCIA QUE JAMAIS VIVI. Eram 9h45m quando entrei no restaurante e humildemente perguntei ao “senhor” que estava a servir se ainda podia jantar. Eu tinha acabado de chegar ao Mogadouro depois de uma viagem de 4 horas e só queria encontrar um sítio para comer… O “senhor” foi EXTREMAMENTE MAL EDUCADO CULPANDO-ME DE NÃO TER RESPEITO PELAS PESSOAS QUE TRABALHAM porque não eram horas de ir ao restaurante, recusando servir o jantar. Lembro que segundo o que aparece na publicidade do restaurante eles só fecham às 00horas. PEDI O LIVRO DE RECLAMAÇÕES E ELE RECUSOU-SE! Este “senhor” não merece ter licença para ter um restaurante aberto.
