Águia Real — Restaurant in Montalegre

I want to leave a review and advise everyone to chose another spot to eat if you care about your safety.

We had a reservation. We arrived 20 min before the opening and we were seated, given the menu and told to wait for 20 min to order.

We chose the food and when the 20 min passed we ordered one francesinha and one beef. We were the first ones to order.

After us other tables got full, but I repeat we were the first to order to the owner directly.

40 minutes pass and the cook brings a francesinha to the table next to us who ordered and arrived after us.

We waited in total one hour. I went to the owner and attentioned him that is disrespectful for us to not have our food but other tables (probably with locals) were attended and finished already.

After my commentary by miracle the food appears in 5 min in front of us. Some of it cold, some uncooked, the francesinha terrible terrible low quality. Prices also do not match with the quality provided.

We eat some of it because it was late and we were hungry, but at the end we decided to complain to the owner about the service overall and to only pay part of the food as it was fair.

What happened was that my boyfriend was surrounded by some men together with the owner Insulting us, yelling and making threats.

So please avoid this place. There are so much other options to eat around.

Excellent view but still a way to go for a reference restaurant. Despite the slow service, which in a way is good to enjoy your time, you can get a cold soup or the main dish without fork and knife... Last time I was served a smelly veal beef that would be a treat in case you were starving and lost on the mountains but otherwise was uneatable! Just a question of luck!.. A nice spot where you can enjoy the locals gathering by the end of the day after exploring the rich landscape around, namely the Cabriel...

Really terrible experience overall. Worst service i have ever seen. After complaining for the long wait and the cold food we got, the owner began to insult us ( also told us to get back to our place ) and actually physically threatened us. I really recommend not visiting this restaurant as it is clearly the worst i went...
