This restaurant has placards in the front of it boasting Michelin stars. I don’t believe it for one minute. This place is bad from the front door to the back of the house. To start with, the door is locked and you need to ring a doorbell to have someone come in and open the door from the back. Once you go in, you smell the place and it has an undesirable smell of funk.
Unfortunately, I went twice-once with my husband because we saw the placards, and the second time I was forced into it, although I had voiced my desire and experience because I did not want to go back. On both times it was the same experience, so it’s definitely NOT A FLUKE.
The place consists of two sections, the front which smells bad, is a bit “bright” and always empty. The back of the place, which is surprisingly brighter then the front of the restaurant with their glass front, but seems to be where people gravitate towards and is still smelly!!
The decor is sad, and gloomy. The ambiance is non existent. The staff is very nice and they’re doing their best to provide you an experience, but the smell of the restaurant and the food leaves a lot to be desired.
Both times, my food was bad. The last time I went with my son, I left almost my entire plate, and not once did they bother to ask, is something wrong?
This first experience , I had fish that was okay, but the vegetables were inedible, just mushy and tasteless. Plus, the presentation of the dish did not merit not even one Michelin mention.
Unfortunately, I would not recommend this place to anyone. I feel bad for the owner, a lady who was super nice, but the place really needs to do something. The prices for what you get are outrageous. Much better places around the corner, that don’t claim to be...
Read moreVery good restaurant with a fantastic staff. As mains we had pregado com acorda de uvas and Arroz de lingueirao. The arroz was nice, tasty and different than what I am used to in Porto. The pregado was delicious, just grilled. The acorda de uvas is quite rare (again for somebody used to Porto). It was quite nice, but missed a little something, not sure what (seasoning or something to give it a little kick). With starters, water, 2 very generous glass of wine and 2 cafe, we payed 60€ (for 2 people) which is correct for the quality. Last word, the service...
