Pérola do Orvalho — Restaurant in Oleiros

Me and my wife have had Sunday lunch there 2 times. Both times were a great experience but today's lunch was particularly good. The fish soup to start was outstanding.....one of the best we've tried anywhere in Portugal. If it had been served in a Michelin star restaurant you would not have complained, it was that good.

I had the Bacalhau for main course which was cooked slightly differently from the many Bacalhau dishes I've tried before. My portion was huge and delicious. With the potatoes and salad it was very filling and delicious.

My wife was equally satisfied with the variety of pork meats in the Fritata dish that she had.

Good bread, excellent olives with garlic and good house wine made this a memorable dining experience again.

The staff are excellent too and made us feel very welcome. The owner João could not have been more helpful and friendly.

The drive there from our home in Barbaído, 30km away, is one of the most beautiful in Portugal. Having a glass of wine on the patio before lunch is a highlight, watching the locals and regulars arriving for lunch. We already made friends with some of the lovely Portuguese families.

Olá não posso ficar indiferente a passagem por esse sítio magnífico fui lá por mero acaso ,por falta de combustível porque o meu destino era 15 km mais atrás uma aldeia chamada Rochas de baixo mas isso não interessa nada o importante e mesmo a refeição que me servirão na pérola começaram com uma sopa de peixe depois como a hora já era avançada não avia muita coisa feita mas por fazer mas o que avia feito era um ensaboado de borrego servido com batatas fritas e umas migas de legumes eu que vivo numa região rodeada de restaurantes mais concretamente em sobral de monte agraço que custumo comer bastante vezes por fora não me lenbro de ter encontrado um ensopado tão bem confecionado como este que comi na pérola do orvalho é aquelas refeições que ficam na nossa memória atendimento muito acolhedor obrigado apesar dos 265 km de distância espero lá voltar mais vezes recomendo...

Food was delicious, people were very friendly. Good variety of food to choose from. Husband and I were very pleased, especially being outsiders.
