Hard Bar — Restaurant in Oliveira do Bairro

Saw this place when planning a road trip and the pics of food drew me in. It looked amazing!!! I checked out the menu and the prices were incredibly fair. So we stopped in. Driving there I was surprised by the surroundings, very rural. The interior was ok. I think half of the dining area was closed. There were masses of dogs outside and a cat that kept walking in and out.. We ordered mozzarella sticks and wings (frozen premade variety). They were ok. The two cocktails I ordered were very good (highlight for sure). We ordered a couple of burgers and I was super disappointed. Very salty. Dry meat. The bun tasted old and dry. Lots of cheese, barely a full strip of bacon, 2 small pickles.... idk just expected more based on the great pics they have online. The photos don't seem remotely related to the food...

Very good and simple kitchen.

The price is, as known in Portugal, not expensive for the quality dishes you can order here.

The Burgers are very excuisite, and the chicken wings taste delicious, worth trying.

A good location / venue if you want to organize a concert. Parking is near. Capacity around 40 people. Beer is good. Prices correct.

The only thing that was a little strange was that every bandmember had to pay his/her drinks, but food was for free for the members of the band.

But the fact that you'll have to pay your drinks is understadable, because it is one of the last bars in the region that allow concerts, and are equipped for it.

So the system is crucial for letting the bar pay it's bills.

Place looks good and ideal for the general audience into rock music. Decoration is fitting and with good taste.

Food is also tasty and the portions are alright.

There are some drawbacks though. The place is in "the middle of nowhere" which might be good for locals but hardly anyone from the outside will return.

Room comfort is also not controlled. Temperature is "controlled" with the weather outside by the big windows which leads to being cold inside when the weather is cold or with flies inside when the weather is warm.

Lastly I feel like, despite the food being tasty, the menu is slightly inflated on prices. You end up paying 12-15€ easily for a "simple" meal. The bill is specially hit by the 7.5-10€ burgers that don't quite hit the "its...
