I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sirga with friends on Friday, and I must say it was an exquisite experience. The ambiance, the service, and the food were all exceptional, making it a memorable evening.
Our experience continued on Sunday with a wine tasting that truly exceeded all expectations. Having attended numerous wine tastings over the years, I can confidently say that none have compared to this one. Each wine was truly unique, with the quality matching any that you’d find at the top restaurants in the world. Ricardo, our waiter, provided an outstanding experience that went far beyond the norm. His deep knowledge of the wines, coupled with his engaging teaching style, made the tasting not only enjoyable but also incredibly educational.
Ricardo’s insights into the wines and his ability to explain the nuances so clearly set this experience apart. If you’re a wine enthusiast or even just a curious learner, I highly recommend seeking out Ricardo for an unparalleled wine tasting journey.
Overall, both the dining and wine tasting experiences at Sirga were top-notch. I look forward to returning and continuing to explore what they...
Read moreTerrible, surreal service… I start suspecting their reviews…. Had a reservation for dinner on Saturday and then, after a change of plans, I made a reservation through the web for Sunday lunch instead. Someone contacted me (via WhatsApp!! I have the chat to share… surreal lecture a couple of screens long…) with several messages, lecturing me on having two reservations and that they decided that if I wanted to go there, I should try my luck… they were NOT going to keep my Sunday reservation. Clearly a pretentious, dramatically overpriced, place (with €30-40 euro simple rice dishes….)… I should have known… a place in the Douro river in Portugal with “wine and bistro” in its name… Traditional places closeby Adega Ramadinha, Dona Amelia or Ponte de Pedra, all much better choices for fantastic food, great service and traditional portuguese atmosphere…. Stay away...
Read moreWe had a very lovely dinner here with friends and the views are just outstanding! The menu was only offered in Portuguese, but with the help of the waiter and our translate app, it was no issue. We started off with the steak sandwhich and this was certainly not the typical type, it was a nice thick piece of filet mignon and highly recommended! Also ordered the lobster toast and while it was tasty, it was not my favorite and would skip. For mains, we ordered the steak platter, salmon and mixed salad. All were tasty and with the steak being my least favorite as the meat was quite chewy and not very tasty. We wanted to stay for dessert, but the gnats were out of control! I wish the restaurant could find a way to minimize it in their outdoor patio as they were swarming on our plates, drinks, etc. On my next visit, I’ll skip the views and sit inside because...
