It was such a nice surprise to find this family-run restaurant in such a remote location on top of the hill. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. His parents' home cooking style dishes were amazing. We ordered 6 or 7 dishes, and everything was ready within 10-15 minutes. Among all the dishes we tried, we highly recommended the octopus dish, pimento padrao (green pepper), and the prawns salad. The only dish we did not enjoy as much was the fish cake. If you are looking for delicious Portuguese cuisine at a reasonable price in the Fontelas area, this is the place to go.

This restaurant was recommended by a YouTuber, Bob Your Uncle. My wife & I went there for lunch during our trip in the Douro Valley. I was hoping to eat Francesinha which was highly recommended but it wasn’t available. However, we ordered some other dishes which were very tasty. Price was very reasonable. We had dinner at a fancy restaurant in a luxury resort but I would say Tasquinha do Cruzeiro’s food is the best in Douro Valley & Porto.

One of the best dinners we've ever had. If you're visiting the Douro Valley, do yourself a huge favor and book a dinner at this incredible place. We came here based on recommendations from locals, without high expectations — and ended up having one of the most memorable meals of our lives.

You're warmly welcomed with fresh bread, small ham sandwiches, olives, and local olive oil. We ordered the grilled veal steak and octopus — hands down the best we've ever tasted. Every ingredient was clearly selected with care, locally sourced and of outstanding quality.

The wine is produced by the owner himself. The ice cream? Made from milk from the owner’s own cows. The salad was fresh from the garden, and the courgettes were organically grown. It was an absolute feast.

What truly made the experience unforgettable was the hospitality. The father and son duo running the place made sure every guest felt welcome — checking in, chatting, and creating a relaxed, joyful atmosphere.

We had an incredible evening. Thank you...
