Very rude customer service! We were doing a day trip and drove all the way up there and as the road is very windy and dangerous, we managed to get there a bit late. When we got there was around 3:30 pm so I went to this restaurant as this is the ONLY one up there and the lady was extremely rude. I asked if they had a table for 2, and she gave me that look and asked if it was for lunch, I was like sure and for drinks! She said, of course, we don’t, look at the time man!! we’re closed for lunch already. There were customers inside baby f drinks, and we would be happy to just have it as well but after that, we just walked away without thinking twice. Her bad attitude is just not acceptable. No customer should be treated badly for bringing their business to a company. We were already very frustrated with the road and with the lack of restaurants, wineries open, etc and this just significantly contributed to making our experience in Douro Valley...

This restaurant was highly recommended and so it was a great disappointment. We called ahead to book a table. They asked us when we would arrive and since we were about 40 min away, they told us they would not need to book us.
We arrived there and the first thing they asked us was if we had booked a table. We explained and they told us it would be 15min of wait. We waited. Nothing. No one came back to check on us for a while. We asked again. There came the news that they only had vitelo and that it would take a long time for them to prepare that.
We had a child with us and all us were hungry. We thought that was very irresponsible of them to not book us, make us go all the way there to not have food to offer us. We had to drive back 30 min to find some food since the place is all the way up the mountains.

It's the only restaurant in the area, next to one of the highest places in the valley. As such, you end up eating there by default. The food is fine. Nothing to write home about, but that's okay in my opinion. The views from the restaurant are incredible, and everyone is having a good time.
