Café da Linda — Restaurant in Ponta Delgada

What a gem! Picked it because it was on the way between Ponta Delgado and Sete Cidades, but was pleasantly surprised when I arrived! Parked near the church (I’m no local when it comes to maneuvering a car around those narrow streets, and walked the 5 min to get there. Ordered a tea and was invited to sit on the terrace across the street, which has this incredible view! Owner is first female to run that location and she puts up with a LOT from the locals but seems like she can hold her own and is genuinely happy to welcome tourists. We visited this authentic Portuguese café on our last day on the island. The weather was perfect, and we decided to enjoy a coffee before heading to the airport. We couldn’t believe the location of the terrace — the views were absolutely stunning!

On top of that, the coffee was excellent, very reasonably priced, and served with genuine warmth. The café was also pleasantly quiet, making it even more enjoyable. Our only regret was not discovering this gem earlier in our trip so we could have visited...

My partner and I discovered this place completely by chance and without any expectations. When we arrived, we didn’t want to leave – we felt truly comfortable here.
