Since moving to Portimao we’ve been scouting for more local restaurants as an alternative to the scores of touristy eateries. Just by chance I happened upon Campu’s which is on N125 just as you’re exiting Portimao on the way to Alvor. We visited and were quite impressed! Returned tonight as it’s one of the restaurants that remains open when everyone else closes up for the winter season. What a Dinner! I had the Pork cheeks in red Wine in a Copper Pot, my wife had a delicious fried Robalo and my step daughter, the Lamb Chops, lots of them! The Pork Cheeks were just mouthwatering. I know, some may not think that cheeks would be appetizing but,,,,fugettaboutit!!!!! Mouth watering delectable!! Did I say mouth watering and melts in your mouth? We chased it all down with a lovely bottle of Vinho Branco Seco and each had delicious in-house made desert. My step daughter wanted an Espresso Martini which they’d never heard of so what did the Server do? She went back to the bar Googled it with her coworker and kept trying till they got it right. All the food was amazing, from the bread, to the fish (codfish), and the desert. It was all made so well and we really enjoyed it.
