In the eternal quest for the ultra-plus-extremely-very-much locals only restaurants of the world, where tourists absolutely do not go, here's a precious gem that ranks very high: Casa de Pasto Lima, where farmers and blue collars alike recharge their batteries with some home-cooked, tasty and very authentic Portuguese food, which btw is absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is what one would expect of a blue collar joint: noisy, filled with cigarette smell (people smoke right at the door, so obviously all the smoke gets inside) and cramped, but the polite staff (extra thanks for the friendly waiter, didn't get your name, bro) along with the awesome and very affordable food make up for it ($8.50 main course + drink, a cheese and coffee), can't beat that.
