First of all, this restaurant is CASH ONLY!

The seatings of this mother-daughter owned restaurant are quite tight and crowded when it’s all full of customers, it makes you feel somewhat at home. Paula is the only person that speaks English so she helped us out with orders. She’s very nice, patient and helpful. Good thing I asked whether she accepted credit cards, she said no. But she asked us not to worry, just eat first and then go get cash and come back to pay the bill. Turned out that the food was amazingly delicious with really reasonable prices so we happened to have enough cash to pay for our food, which were grilled grouper, alcatra oxtails, fried small mackerels, fish soup and chocolate mousse, with side dishes of vegetable salad, sweet potatoes, potatoes, chickpeas and olives and corns…All costed us less than $70! That’s one of the best food we have had during our one week stay on Terceira Island and costed least for the quantity of food!

I would strongly recommend everybody to come and try Snack-bar Saint Catarina. But you have to make a reservation in advance to avoid waiting in...

Amazing, outstanding, delicious and really reALLy cooOOzy. A good selection of budget "entradas" and lunch dishes and an even better and wider selection of everything and and anything connected to Portuguese and AzoriAN cuisine. Fish soup is ACE and their home made queijo fresco is definitely one of the best on the Island unless you're a local and your grandma makes a good one, obviously... Although we had a jar of vino da casa, I must admit I was eyeing my neighbour's draught beer in a frozen glass, nice and foAmy... Be willing to wait for a table or reserve as The place is always bangin' packed.. recommendation level :...

The best meal we've had on our Azores islands hopping. This is a family run restaurant and you can tell the food will be delicious if grandma is the chef.

The fish soup and the oxtail stew (Alcatra) was so delicious. It was so tender that the meat literally falls off. This is place is very popular with locals. Definitely a hidden gem. The price was very reasonable.

The hospitality we got from the husband and wife that runs this restaurant is something we will remember...

Absolute gem that I wish we discovered sooner. Incredible service and beyond incredible flavours. Their menu offers a diverse assortment of local Azorean and Terceira-specific specialties. We loved the corn bread patties, fish soup, and the octopus alcatara. Phenomenal. If you’re new to Azorean cuisine, ask the servers to explain the dishes for you and you’re in for a treat. Also recommend to try their house-cured tuna with lemon and sea herbs. Out of this world. Can’t wait to return.
