We had a reservation and went to a restaurant with our friends and their service dog, who was wearing the official vest and had proper government-issued certification. Despite this, we were refused entry and service. We even offered to sit outside, and the owner still declined. Our friend has a serious and visibly apparent medical condition.

What made this even more shocking is that earlier that same day, we had lunch at Esporão, a Michelin-recommended restaurant, where we were warmly welcomed and seated indoors with the service dog — no issues whatsoever. A true example of professionalism and respect for human dignity.

That contrast made the refusal at this second restaurant even more disappointing. It’s important to note that, under Decreto-Lei n.º 74/2007 of March 27, people with disabilities in Portugal have the right to be accompanied by a service dog in all public spaces, including restaurants. Refusing this is a form of discrimination and is punishable under the law.

It’s shameful that in the 21st century, some businesses still choose to ignore such...

One of the highlights of our 3 weeks trip to Portugal!!! This place is a MUST VIST even if you have to drive an hour or more!!! My husband and i ordered 2 goat meat dishes and both were exceptionally wonderful! The meat was super flavour full and cooked to perfection! We were so thrilled with the food that we went into the kitchen to Thank the chef! The staff and service was outstanding and the local wine was perfect. Everything they serve here is locally sourced and that's one of the reasons the food was so fresh and tasty. Portions are big and ambience is lovely and family friendly.. make sure to call ahead and do reservations. Cant recommend this...

We were in the area and were recommended this restaurant by a local. We arrived without a reservation which was not appreciated by the main waiter. When he spoke to us, even if in Portugese, he gave us the option of the 2 worst tables in the restaurant despite there being many other much better options available. Those options remained empty when we finished our meal. In short, he was not happy to welcome foreigners to the restaurant. The food was just ok. I ordered the pork with Garlic. The side dish of sweet potato was better than the pork because the pork was overcooked. The mixed salad was a very simple salad.

A traditional portuguese staple located next to a national street with a good variety of typical Alentejo dishes. Strongly recommend: lamb chops and the pork meat with Migas. The appetizers are nice but maybe a bit overpriced for the amount and quality. The deserts are plentiful and traditional, so worth getting them. Reservations are recommended and credit card payments are possible. They have private parking
