Zalo’s Burger — Restaurant in Ribeira Brava

The food was tasty and quite cheap for what you get.

If you are Portuguese or at least able to speak the language, you should go there.

But if you only speak English like me, be warned: They have an English Menu card, but we felt like the Waitress doesn't like Foreigners. We wanted to order a Bolo do Caco on the Menu, which she just replied with "No". A few minutes later the same waitress served a Bolo do Caco to some other guests who came later.

Another "misunderstanding" was our order of french fries. After a few minutes she wanted to serve us chicken wings instead and insisted that this meal (=the chicken wings) is called "french fries". All in all we didn't feel...

What an amazing place! The food was perfect. Meat tasted great, the salad tasted all fresh and the highlight - the crispy thin potato fries - that takes the burger to the next level. I'm talking about the house burger btw

The pictures don't do justice to the food. Everything is delicious and very fresh, veggies are crunchy. I was surprised with the tiny "straw potato". You can ask for a hamburger in bolo do caco instead a bun, but be aware it's rather big ;) As everybody says, prices are very reasonable, service extremely nice and quick. Parking and toilets available. Pay attention not to miss the entry way! JUST before the tunnel...
