I went there today and have experienced an obsolete rip-off on a dish with lobster. At the moment of ordering food, my pink-haired talkative waitress refrained from pronouncing out loud the total cost of the dish telling me only the market price of lobster, it was at the display with other fish, but not in the menu. I was informed of the price per pound of the lobster, it was 17 euros, the lobster weighed slightly more than 2 pounds and that would be 34-40 euros for the lobster of 950 grams, but guess what, was on the final bill - 66 euros! At the moment of serving the dish was full of things, that we didn’t order! To my objections the sly waitress said she told me!
When I order lobster I expect lobster with a sauce and Nothing else!
Dear O Pescador’s owner, be aware, that the above is happening in the premises of your restaurant, and this makes its reputation! 👎
Include the lobster in the menu with full description and a price per pound or kilogram or what-so-ever measures you use!

Read moreWe were there last week during our vacation in Sao Miguel. Amazing experience. The waiter took 10 minutes of her time to explain to us the texture and taste of the many catches of the day together with the reason for the colors of each of them and their habits in the ocean (what they eat, etc.). An experience and such a high level of professionality isn't available in any other restaurant ever, not even in the ones that claim to be fancy and classy in big cities. We tried two of them (one that eats corals and a fresh fat slice of tuna) and the tastes were amazing and so unique. During the dinner, the owner and his amazing waiter passed by our table to make sure we liked the food, since it was their recommendation to us. So bad we don't live close to them to go there every day. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to eat amazing seafood in Sao Miguel far from the...
Read moreExcellent fish dishes with a vide variety of different species! As the name suggests this restaurant specialises on fish in all sizes and colours. You can simply pick one from a picture showing the fish in the Azores and the price is very reasonable for a fresh fish platter. We had a fish bowl for two which was very aromatic yet not too hot or spicy with different fish cooked such as ray and other we haven't had on a german plate so far. Prawns and mussels added with broccoli, peppers and some potatotes made the dish fresh and very tasty.
IMPORTANT: One can only pay cash or with AmEx. No other cards accepted. There is an ATM in the centre of Rabo de Peixe though.
There should be enough parking lots if anyone wants to go by car.
The neighbourhood of the restaurant is a bit run down but don't let yourself be discouraged as the meals are really...
