If you're in Rio Maior and want to eat Portuguese food, I'd highly recommend this family-friendly restaurant with a car park and a very typical atmosphere. Start with a cheese and ham platter (€8.00) with pumpkin jam for those who like it, toast and bread. Next, I ordered the grilled Vazia steak for two (22.5€), which came just right and the meat was very tender. It was accompanied by a very generously priced Caiado red wine (€10.00). For dessert and as a suggestion, I tried the chocolate mousse (€2.5) which was top notch. The dishes of the day, with many options, were also very interesting and affordable.

We wanted to eat something on a monday evening, and this was one of the only restaurants open. We were with 4 people, from the Netherlands. This time of the year, the staff don't speak English. We can't speak Portugese, but we all tried our best with Google Translate, our waitress was very nice and really tried to help us! The steak, wasn't really what we expected it to be. Estava de caminho e necessitava de comer algo mas já era tarde, eu e o meu irmão parámos neste restaurante.

Mesmo sendo quase 15:30, o proprietário do restaurante foi amável o suficiente para saber se ainda tinham alguma das diárias disponíveis e se era possível servir. Escolhemos a carne feita no forno (com um molho fabuloso), uma dose para dois, que custou 20€ acompanhada com batatas, arroz e bebidas. Foi uma das melhores carnes feitas no forno que comi em anos, só igualada pela minha mãe quando trabalhava na restauração. Nota-se muito o amor pela comida caseira, pelos pequenos detalhes do espaço, desde da escolha da decoração aos pratos que são usados para servir a comida.

Estavam sempre preocupados para saber se estávamos bem fora, se a comida estava boa ou a temperatura ideal, notava-se que já estavam a comer e mesmo assim tiravam tempo para ver como nós estávamos.

Além do serviço ter sido rápido, recomendo a todos que visitem este espaço, se estão à procura de comida caseira, bom serviço e um parqueamento amplo. Preço face a qualidade, é dos melhores da zona, sem sombra de dúvida, que dão vida a palavra...
