OK atmosphere, reasonably good service, absolutely terrible food.
Over the years, we have been to Ze Dias a few times for lunch, the last one about a year ago, but never for dinner until yesterday when we were in the area around dinner time and decided to give it a try. The lunches have been OK: typical Portuguese fare of mixed grilled this or that or the other, but the food yesterday turned out to be absolutely terrible. And it was not just some one thing: everything the four of us ended up ordering was subpar: the mixed grilled fish looked and tasted like reheated leftovers from lunch which it probably was (I am absolutely serious), same about the rubbery chicken breast which was obviously not freshly grilled, but the worst of it was the bacalhau a casa which was a complete affront to Portuguese cuisine: a small lombo served with cold(!) boiled peeled potatoes and a mix of mushy boiled broccoli and carrots all covered by some tomato sauce (??) which tasted as it came straight from a can. If you are the owner reading this: you should take this dish off the menu to avoid embarrassing yourself and giving a bad name to this signature Portuguese offer until you learn how to properly make it - I am not kidding.

Read moreI had the absolute worst dining experience this summer at Ze Dias in São Brás. The service was abysmal from start to finish. The waitress was inattentive and downright rude, making us feel unwelcome and disrespected throughout the meal.
I ordered a steak, hoping for a delicious meal, but what I received was anything but. The steak was rubbery and completely devoid of flavor. It was a struggle to cut through and even harder to chew, clearly indicating poor quality and preparation.
Overall, it was a disastrous evening. The combination of terrible service and inedible food made for a thoroughly unpleasant experience. It's clear that this restaurant does not value its customers or their business. I strongly advise staying away from this place if you're looking for a decent dining experience in...
