O Forno da Devesa — Restaurant in São João da Pesqueira

We visited São João da Pesqueira for the first time and we ended up in this restaurant after asking a local where he would advise us to go for dinner. We were here in our first night and we liked it so much we came back on the next day for lunch. Authentic place with home made food, typical and tasty. The house red wine is local and very good in an area where wine is a must to try. Family environment with very good service and sympathy. Will come back for sure, this is the place to eat in São João...

Great food, cozy atmosphere (late evening hours) and very hospitable owner! The staff didn't speak much English at the time we visited the place, but magically there was no miscommunication whatsoever and both sides perfectly...

Experiência muito negativa, nomeadamente com a antipatia do dono. Passei a meio da tarde para reservar mesa para o jantar, não reservavam (quando fomos jantar verificamos que o 1° andar estava quase vazio!). Pedimos para fechar uma janela junto à nossa mesa, pois vinha um vento frio (o "patrão" não deixou). A confeção já passou por melhores dias, comparada com a de alguns anos atrás. Salvou-se a simpatia da jovem funcionária que nos atendeu à mesa. Para mim, chegou, há mais...
