Wonderful place, best octopus I’ve ever tasted. Don’t expect a “complete” restaurant: Petipé is a small container/trailer with a little terrace and some five/six tables. The mom and dad (?) are cooking, their son is waiting the tables. The menu only contains of some starters, three mains and two desserts.

This may sound like nothing special, but the views over the open ocean (especially at sunset) are spectacular, just as the fish prepared by the family on their tiny stove tops. The octopus melts on your tongue and the “fish of the day” is caught by the son himself. You won’t get anything fresher and more authentic than their food. As they don’t have much space, make a reservation. The kitchen is only open until 9pm.

Against some reviews I’ve read here, the family are all very nice and attentive. However, English is basic as in most parts of the islands and apart from English they speak some Spanish, and,...

Great setting with ocean views. Nice park nearby. Food taste was wonderful. Wife and I shared grilled tuna and baked octopus meals. Octopus was top notch with a nice char on it. Tuna was just above good. Nice seasoning. Ordered rare but it was closer to medium. Would have like a thicker steak. Lovely tasting cabbage salad on the side. All staff were very pleasant and helpful. They have a small loja with handmade (by owner) ceramics, bags and cool women's clothing. Some minor negatives....very small with only a handful of tables. Prices are high but I understand they have a short season. The bolognese was over 17eu for some spaghetti with a small amount of sauce and no side. My craft beer was almost double what I pay in the store. But all in all, still a 5 star. We live on the island and will return for sure. Wish they opened...

What a gem! We arrived without reservation and they arranged a table for us. The host is so sweet and welcoming. We shared a tuna toast starter. After I had the fish of the day and my boyfriend the tuna steak. Both were extremely tasty. We would have liked some dessert, however we were full after the main dish. 😁

There was nice chill music playing. And we could experience the sunset while eating. It was perfect.

There was some waiting time before we got the main dish. However the lady had warned us beforehand. And in this setting/atmosphere the wait wasn't a problem at all.

I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone...

The food was absolutely amazing, the service fine, and the view spectacular. The baked octopus was one of the best dishes I’ve had anywhere and the fish soup was very good. All these poor reviews about service are full of it. It’s hard to judge poor service here as most restaurants have only 1 or 2 servers. Things take a while I’m in Europe service typically isn’t very attentive. You will have amazing food if you come here.

Don't judge a book by its cover. From the outside it looks like they would be selling burgers but my husband and I were delighted with this find. A great spot for tourists and locals alike, the food was so good that this was the restaurant we went back to on our last night on Pico. First time I'd ever had limpets and they were delish! The little dessert in a pot was as tasty as it was cute

Amazing food! Fresh fish and seafood, good drinks! Try the tuna steak or the baked octopus, Roberta (the chef) makes it with such love that you can practically taste it. The owner Paula Oliveira is also an incredible jazz singer and an artist teacher, lovely personality that will make you feel home. The view is also stunning especially in the evening at sunset.
