I recently discovered the best restaurant on Pico Island – a gem that made the one-hour car ride from Lajes absolutely worth it.

The traditional food was not only delicious but also served with impeccable attention to detail. We indulged in the incredible Arroz de Polvo, a dish that surpassed all expectations.

The food was truly excellent. The fish stew was especially tasty, and the local cheeses were just as good. However, the seating was quite uncomfortable. The chair had no backrest, and the table was very small, which made it hard to fully enjoy the meal. One thing that left me a bit disappointed: I was served an extra appetizer that I hadn’t ordered. At the time, I didn’t realize it and thought it was part of what I had asked for. Only when I went to pay did I notice an extra €7 on the bill. Amongst a number of good restaurants in Prainha this is our favourite! The service is really friendly, warm and attentive without losing professionalism. All the dishes we tried over two nights were very delicious and tasty. Beef tender and well rested, cod with chickpeas a subtle dream, octopus fresh and cooked to perfection. Nice wine selection.
