Garlic bread and olives were good for a starter. Tuna was dry and over cooked and the milhos fritos were burnt and oily. The vegetables were overcooked and watery. The soup tasted as though from a tin and was covered in dried oregano. Scabbard was ok and the only plate that got finished. The service was frankly appalling, we were the only people in the restaurant to start (maybe for a reason?) and the waitress still hasn't noticed that I haven't touched the tuna since struggling to chew a very dry mouthful.

Avoid at all costs, this is the worst food I have eaten in a week in Madeira

Edited (in response to owner comment) to add: The tuna was not put on the bill as obviously it couldn't be charged for, and I wouldn't have paid for it regardless. If you want to risk going for a meal but leaving hungry then go to Restaurante Many, from my experience 2/3 meals are not good and 1/3 meals...

Purely by chance we visited the Many Restaurant yesterday, so pleased we did, the food served is excellent, a perfect representation of the very best Madeira and Portuguese cuisine, cooked and presented to perfection, I chose the Bacalhau, so easy to get wrong, but this was excellent Sue chose Black Scabbard fish, also cooked to perfection, and both very generous portions. My understanding is that Alejandro and Maria are cooking the food, and very friendly and helpful Albert delivers the plates to your table. I almost forgot to mention, do try the made on the premises coffee ice cream dessert. Enjoy your meal overlooking the sea from the terrace, before we leave Madeira for another year we will be visiting The Many Restaurant again, despite it being quite a long drive for us, but...

We only managed to have shrimps which were very good. But the staff wasn’t too fast, they forgot our cake, were drinking with the guests. We asked for the shrimps and drinks and asked for them to leave the menu so that we could ask for something else. Then when we did they said it was too late (21:10) and that they close at 22:00 and that is why they asked us to choose from the menu, which never happened and then the guy said that they were closing at 22:00 and it is written on Instagram, which is ridiculous, considering that we asked him to leave the menu as we wanted to choose something else. No apology, just saying oh not at this hour, I told you to choose.. which...

It is a must stop in Madeira. The best typical dishes, very good cuisine and even better service. Excellent sea view.
