Found this by the great Google rating and can definitely recommend, not only as a snack bar but as a regular restaurant. For starters we took the shrimp croquettes, shaped like dumplings which was super fun as we’re from Poland :D we liked the filling and were pretty full when the mains came in. We really wanted to try the local espada with a banana and this was a great choice, served with baked potatos (not milho frito unfortunately but the wedges were very good) and a side salad. Other dish we tried was beef sirloin (ideally cooked medium rare, very soft and tasty) with the same sides as espada. I can also recommend the Madeira tonic for drink, it was a good way to get to know the taste of this alcohol in a milder way 😅 the service was really nice and helpful with the choices! Thanks for a nice experience :)

We ordered the bacon burger with fries and the tempura squid and shrimp. The burger was outstanding, juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked... definitely the highlight of the meal. The tempura seafood was quite good too, with a light, crispy batter that complemented the shrimp and squid well, though it didn’t quite steal the show like the burger did. The setting is charming. Ducks and chickens wandered freely through the restaurant’s garden, and a nearby lemon orchard enhanced the atmosphere with a rustic, countryside feel. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here, though we did take off one star for the service. While the waitress was warm and friendly, we had to get our own napkins, and no one checked on us during the meal. Still, we’d happily return just for the quality of the food and the setting.

This place was amazing. After 5 hours of hiking with the kids to the levada, eating something so delicious was a lifesaver. We ordered Madeira bread, which was perfect—garlic and fresh-baked, simply heaven... We also ordered calamari and shrimp as appetizers, and the kids couldn't stop eating. The beef skewer was ideal, and the Dorada fish I had was perfect, seasoned just right with delicious sides—garlic potatoes and salad. Another thing I have to mention is that the kids ordered freshly squeezed orange juice, and it was delicious. Besides that, they could find chickens, fish, ducks, and lizards in the yard, so they had plenty to do while waiting for the food, which arrived very quickly. Also the service was super friendly and I highly recommend this place.

Visiting this restaurant was a delightful experience from start to finish. The staff, especially Andreas, were incredibly attentive, caring, and friendly, making us feel welcomed and valued throughout our meal. Andreas went above and beyond to provide us with a VIP experience, ensuring that every aspect of our dinner was nothing short of wonderful. He kept us well-informed about the availability of menu items, ensuring we were never left wondering. Now, onto the food – the limpets were an absolute highlight. As someone who hails from the seaside, I can confidently say I've never tasted limpets prepared so perfectly. Each bite was a burst of flavor and freshness, truly a testament to the chef's skill and dedication to quality ingredients. And let's not forget about the eggs shakshuka – simply incredible. The combination of flavors and textures was exquisite, leaving us craving more with every spoonful. The restaurant's ambiance added to the overall charm of the experience, with a serene garden complete with a pond filled with fish and adorable chickens with their chicks roaming freely. It's a beautiful setting that enhances the dining experience and adds to the restaurant's unique charm. Overall, dining at this restaurant was an unforgettable experience, thanks to the exceptional staff, especially Andreas, delectable food, and charming ambiance. I can't wait to visit again and indulge in more culinary delights from this hidden gem in...

Horrible service. Came here for lunch with a few friends, I needed the toilet desperately so I went ahead of my friends while they parked the car. The toilet had a sign that said paying customers can use the toilet for free otherwise there is a .50 euro fee, no problem, we were staying for lunch anyway. The toilet was locked so I asked if there is a key for it, the worker said there is a fee for the toilet, I said my friends and I will be staying to eat, I just need to use the toilet badly, he responded “how do I know if you are a paying customer if I don’t sell you something first” in a very rude tone. You make this big of a deal for .50 euro, how embarrassing. We payed the .50 euro and decided to take our money elsewhere for lunch. You made such a fuss over .50 euro and lost out on the money from four meals. We ended up going to Bol de Caco Grill & Pizza, only a few minutes away. Their service was exceptional, the food was great, and the staff was so friendly and warm!! Highly recommend going there instead if you are...
