I feel my shoulders dropping - with one deep breath in and out - I know I am at home. That’s the feeling for me when I go to Herdade da Matinha. There must be something in the scent, but it only takes a few minutes and I’m in total calm mode. The restaurant is run by two brothers and sons of Alfredo (the founder and resident artist). Love the kitchen (I hear it used to be accessible to the hotel guests in the past - oh how I wish that could return :)) And the food is very tasty. It goes into a Portuguese traditional direction, but still with modern ingredients. Last time I went I loved the Tomato Gazpacho and the Oxtail Croquettes!
